The Compensation Program

What Is the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program?

The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program was designed to give people compensation for vaccine injuries. Although some mild reactions after immunizations are common, lasting illnesses should not be. At the Law Office of David E. Marmelstein, we work with clients throughout the Eastern United States who have suffered because of a vaccine or immunization.

If you are not sure if you have a case, contact us to learn more. We are here to help.

The act is sympathetic. Many people do not know immediately that it was the vaccine that caused their child's injury. If you are unsure about whether you have a claim, call us to learn more: 888-651-2096.

Who Developed VICP?

The National Child Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) created the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) in October of 1988. Three government offices have a role in the VICP. Those offices are: the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Where Does the Money Come From?

The funding for the VICP comes from the pharmaceutical companies. Pharmaceutical companies are taxed for each vaccine that is purchased, and the tax money is used to fund the VICP trust.

How Does Working With an Attorney Help?

When we work with clients to file a claim under the vaccine injury compensation program, our representation does not stop once the initial claim is filed. We stick with clients throughout the process. This includes finding medical referrals and following up after settlements to assist with the counseling aspect. Learn more about our representation by contacting us online or by calling an experienced lawyer at 888-651-2096.
